Beginning from December 2004 the fee will be charged for obtaining certificates in all the states participating in the Program
Eurasian Council for Certified Accountants and Auditors (ECCAA) announces the introduction of a fee schedule for certificates awarded for Certified Accounting Practitioners (CAPs) and Certified International Professional Accountants (CIPA). Beginning with certificates issued in December 2005, the fee for a CAP certificate will be USD 10 and for a CIPA certificate USD 20. These fees will be increased for certificates issued in April 2005.
The CAP/CIPA program continues to grow and gain recognition throughout the Former Soviet Union. According to the available data including the results of the examination session held in March 2004, more than 35000 accountants have participated in the exams conducted in all five Central Asian Republics, Ukraine, Russia and Moldova. Up to now 2430 participants have passed the required exams and met the education, work experience and professional association membership requirements necessary to obtain the first level (CAP) certificate. 8 participants have fulfilled the qualification requirements for obtaining the more advanced CIPA certificate.
The breakdown of CAP/CIPA certificates issued in different countries is as follows : Kazakhstan - 859/1, Kyrgyzstan - 447/4, Moldova - 23/0, Russia - 23/0, Tajikistan - 101/0, Turkmenistan - 10/0, Uzbekistan - 248/2 and Ukraine - 719/1. These data indicate that the CAP/CIPA program is gaining recognition the above-mentioned countries and that the certification is perceived by accountants as increasingly valuable. As the program grows in recognition and prestige, it is necessary to introduce this fee as part of the plan to cover the costs of the program and insure that the program will be sustainable for the long-term.
